Joëlle Bentolila is an award-winning writer and director whose work spans short films, documentaries, and feature films. She has written and directed multiple short films and documentaries, earning commissions as a screenwriter, as well as recognition across the festival circuit. Her debut feature, The Maze, starring Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Academy Award winner Sally Kellerman, won several awards. Her short Starboy received the Pears Film Fund Award, premiered at Outfest LA, was nominated for the Iris Prize Best British Short, screened at over 60 international festivals, and collected numerous prestigious awards. Fascinated by stories about the mystery of the self, she believes filmmaking is about truth, outrage and excitement.
